I have good signal coming into the house (+8.5dB) I am going to split the signal 7 ways. I heard that some amplifiers will not work with modems. What will work for a cable modem?  
 
 
The EDA-FT08100 will work with your cable modem. The key thing required to support a cable modem is a clear return path (5-42MHz). Some amplifiers block that frequency altogether. Other amplifiers introduce so much return path insertion loss that they hinder the cable modem operation.
