Amp choice - cable modem?
01/07/07 at 21:09:52

I have good signal coming into the house (+8.5dB) I am going to split the signal 7 ways. I heard that some amplifiers will not work with modems. What will work for a cable modem?

The EDA-FT08100 will work with your cable modem. The key thing required to support a cable modem is a clear return path (5-42MHz). Some amplifiers block that frequency altogether. Other amplifiers introduce so much return path insertion loss that they hinder the cable modem operation. The FT08100 is specifically designed to work with any cable TV device - while fully supporting cable modem operation. Please look in the other sections for specific information about active return amplifiers and return path insertion loss.
